Best Rated Norwich Dog Trainer

It is indeed a privilege and an honour that Norwich Dog Training School (NDTS) has once again been awarded Three Best Rated in Norwich 2025, making this our third year in succession for receiving this prestigious award. We would like to thank our many clients over the years for making this happen, by trusting us to help them with their dogs training needs.  

Unlike many rating systems, Three Best Rated® is not a ‘paid for award’ it was created with the simple goal of finding the top 3 local businesses with every business being meticulously handpicked; having checked the business’s reputation, history, complaints, ratings, proximity, satisfaction, trust, cost, general excellence and reviews. Using an in depth 50-point inspection system verified by their employees.

Our business, contrasting to many dog training organisations is not a large corporate organisation with multiple trainers and an online training platform with countless videos from which they can reap financial rewards. Our Training School is run by one individual on a part-time basis (we don’t train every day), supported by a wonderful and understanding wife. In fact, we have no aspirations to grow our business into something much bigger, as we want to enjoy delivering the best services we can. We have no aspirations to become greedy or risk our business becoming monolithic weight that would in turn spoil the enjoyment we gain from delivering our training services. Norwich Dog Training School is an independent, non-franchise training school that prides itself on providing the best service we can by offering the personal touch, by drawing on our experience gained over many years and by delivering training in a format that some would consider as having ‘old fashioned values’, as we deliver training on a one-to-one basis, and to small groups, but most certainly ‘Not Online’. Additionally and distinct to countless other training establishments; we are enthusiasts, not a dog boarding kennel or dealer that seeks to profit from the buying and selling of dogs or puppies.

Over many, many years, our friends too numerous to mention here, but include the lovely people that bred our fantastic dogs (Florenza, Johan, Edith, Pauline, Rowland, John, Sue) have directly influenced our dog training. However, there are three very special people that deserve a special mention here. Who for reasons good or bad, have made me what I am today:

Doris Ware – a judge, trainer, exhibitor and great friend for many years, took me under her wing, and taught me so much about dogs, and most importantly…. their owners. Doris coined one of my favourite phrases – ‘A little knowledge is a dangerous thing’.

George Garbett – A true legend within the field of working dogs. Sadly, so much knowledge was lost with his passing. But I am, forever truly grateful for the knowledge and experience shared.

John Westwood – My dearest friend, who had exceptional drive, passion and humour, that is unequalled. A very kind and compassionate friend and trainer. Who for as long as I have breath, will be sorely missed.
